Overview

kokoo is designed with privacy in mind. We collect as little data as possible and store your recipes safely in your own iCloud account.

Data storage

Recipes and personal data

All your recipes, weekly plans, shopping lists, and collections are stored in your personal iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit. We do not have access to this data.

AI import feature

When you import a recipe via URL or photo, the content is temporarily sent to our server for AI processing. This data is:

• Used only to extract the recipe
• Not stored permanently
• Not shared with third parties
• Processed via OpenRouter (Google Gemini)

What we do NOT do

• We do not sell data to third parties
• We do not show ads
• We do not have access to your recipes in iCloud

Usage statistics

We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve kokoo, such as which features are used and how often. No personal information is stored: no name, no email address, no Apple ID, no location. We use a self-hosted analytics tool on our own servers in Europe. No cookies are placed and no data is shared with third parties.

Family sharing

If you choose to share your cookbook with family members, this happens entirely through Apple's iCloud sharing. We do not facilitate this and have no access to shared data.

Payments

All payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive payment details such as credit card numbers.
